Everyone at OMEP is deeply saddened by the news of Professor Ebele J. Maduewesi’s passing.
Professor Maduewesi was a distinguished scholar, an early childhood expert and an astute administrator who contributed immensely to the development of children in Nigeria, in Africa, and in the world. She was one of the early members of OMEP-Nigeria National Committee and the Regional Vice-President for Africa between 1999 and 2005, advocating strongly for the rights of young children, particularly those of girls, in the global context. Our organisation would never be the same without her contribution and dedication.
A light has gone out without so much as a flicker, and all we have left is the precious memory of how brightly it burned and the warmth it gave us.
